René Maillot dit Laviolette, birth date unknown in De Prigle De Castellaroy, Archdiocese of Toulouse, France; married Jeanne-Catherine Berger in Gascony, France.
Child of René Maillot and Jeanne-Catherine Berger:
René Maillot dit Laviolette (Arnaut Maillot dit Laviolette), born about 1637 at Castelleroy (Castel-Arrouy), diocese of Toulouse, Gascogne, France.
René came to Québec in 1669 and married Marie Chapacou 28 October 1671 at St-Anne-des-le-Pérade, Québec. (She was born 1658 in France and died 25 December 1733 at St-Anne-des-le-Pérade, Québec. Marie was 13 when she married René and he was 34. Marie was a daughter of Simon-Jean Chapacou, who died 3 June 1690 and was buried at Longueuil, Québec, and Marie-Vincente Pacaud from Saintonge, France). René was a salt maker.
Children of René Maillot dit Laviolette and Marie Chapacou:René-Pierre: Born 15 January 1675, died 8 December 1758 at Grondines, Québec; married 2 February 1702 to Marie-Françoise Goron (Gauron) at Deschaillons (Roy Chatellerault) Québec. Her parents were Michel Gauron and Marquerite Robineau. They had at least 3 children
Rose: Born about 1676 and died before 1717. About 1690 she married Raymond Chesne dit Lagrave, or l’Agreable. Later on he was remarried to Marguerite Renaut.
Marie: (1677-1746), married 16 July 1708 to François Guibaut. They lived at Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade. His parents were Louis Guibault and Marie Lefebvre.
Jean: Born in 1679; his fate is unknown.
Guillaume: Born 1681 at Grondines, Québec, died 20 April 1718; married 16 January 1704 at Montréal to Marie-Anne Macé (she was born 7 December 1684, died 24 September 1721). He was a blacksmith and edge-tool maker. The family settled in Montréal. They had 9 children.
Marie: Born 1682, died 24 December 1702. She was not married.
Marie-Louise: (1684-1713), married 19 February 1706 to Pierre Mataut. They lived at Château-Richer. In 1715 Pierre was remarried to Scholastique Toupin dit Dussault.Pierre: Born in 1686 and married 1708 at St-Jean Deschaillons, Québec, to Marie-Marguerite Gauron (Goron). They lived at St-Jean Deschaillons. Her parents were Michel Gauron (Goron) and Marquerite Robineau. They had at least 3 children.
Louis: Born 14 January 1689 at Cap-Sante, Québec, died 1 December 1760 at St. Jean Deschaillons; married about 1712 at St-Jean Deschaillons to Marie Madeleine Houy, who was born 22 November 1710 at Laneuville, Québec. Her parents were Robert Houy and Ann-Françoise Gauron. They had at least 11 children.
Jacques: Born in 1691 and married Marie-Angélique Houy in 1713. They had at least 13 children.
M-Geneviève: Born 12 June 1692, died 1731), married 26 October 1722 to Antoine Godard and in 1733 he was remarried to Madeleine Dubois from Château-Richer.
François: Born 15 January 1695 at Grondines, Québec, died 8 December 1758 at Saint-Pierre-les-Becquets, Québec; married 1713 or 1718 at St-Jean Deschaillons to Marie-Charlotte Goron (Gauron), born 1689. Marie-Charlotte was the daughter of Michel Gauron and Marquerite Robinau. This couple settled at Saint-Pierre-les-Becquets.
Marie-Anne: Born 15 January 1695, the twin of François, married Antonine Guibaut in 1711. They lived in Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade.
Second Generation in
Joseph (Maillot-Leblond): Born after 1719; 1st marriage 20 November 1752 at St-Pierre-les-Becquets, Québec, to Marie-Geneviève Brisson. Her parents were Francis Joseph Brisson and Josephte Geneviève Pepin. 2nd marriage 19 September 1771 to Therese Hamel - they had 3 children.
Michel:Born about 1719; married 20 November 1740 at Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade, Québec, to Marie Angelique Tessier. Her parents were Pierre Tessier and Angelique Gaudry.
Marie Born 22 February 1720 at Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade; married 15 November 1744 at St- Jean Deschaillons to Noel Augustin Dubuc. His parents were Roman Dubuque and Anne Pinel.
Geneviève: Born 30 May 1722
François: Born 10 May 1725 at Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade, married 10 February 1748 at Sainte-Anne-de-la Pérade to Marie Anne Pepin, who was born before 1740. The parents of Marie Anne Pepin were Jean-Baptiste Pepin and Marie Jacqueline Bily.
Marie Catherine: Born 16 May 1728, died 27 September 1728
Marie Elizabeth: Born 4 January 1730 at Lotbinière, Québec; married 8 January 1755 at Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade to Antoine Baril (born 4 October 1724). His parents were Louis Baril and Marie Anne Charlotte Trotier.
Françoise-Marie: Born 14 June 1735, died 30 January 1744

François Born 10 May 1725 at Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pérade, married 10 February 1748 at Sainte-Anne-de-la Pérade to Marie Anne Pepin, who was born before 1740. The parents of Marie Anne Pepin were Jean-Baptiste Pepin and Marie Jacqueline Bily.

Adeline: Married Jean Baptiste Mailhot on 19 October 1880 at Deschaillons, Quebec (this is the same date as the marriage of our g-grandfather Alfred to Emilie so may not be correct. I do have the marriage record for Alfred & Emilie so I know their marriage date is correct).
Melina: Married Arthur Mailhot 27 September 1892 at Fortierville, Québec
Arthemise: Married Alfred Roux on 2 September 1873 at Deschaillons, Québec
Eloi: Married Dulice Auger 12 January 1882 at St-Pierre-les-Becquets, Québec

Jos. Alfred Maillot: Born 7 May 1859 (baptized 8 May 1859) at Saint-Pierre-les-Becquets, Québec, died 22 June 1942 in Iron Mountain, Michigan; married 19 October 1880 at Gentilly, Québec, to Emilie Bilodeau, (Emilie was the daughter of François-Xavier Bilodeau and Marie Luce (Lucille) Ratté and was born and baptized 13 May 1861, at Gentilly, Québec, died 13 December 1943 in Iron Mountain, Michigan). The family moved from Québec to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to the areas of Ishpeming and Iron Mountain in the early 1890s. Alfred worked for the railroad and attended the water tower in Iron Mountain. Alfred and Emilie are buried in the Iron Mountain City Cemetery.

(According to Joan Jacques Scherr, the granddaughter of Alfred & Emilie there were approximately 17 children in this family and our grandmother Maude was the 9th child.) The only children I have been able to verify are the following:

Emilie (Amelia) Born 10 June 1890, died in 1981 at age 91; married to Harvey Vanitvelt, born 26 March 1890 died in 1963 at age 73.

Eva Born 30 June 1896, died at age 95 in October 1991; married Hans Lawson. They lived in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Yvonne, married to Bob Fonder. They live in Greenbay, Wisconsin
Patricia, never married, died age 20 on 21 February 1941
Maudine Mae (Maude): Born 17 August 1894 at Ishpeming, Michigan, (however, she celebrated (Maude) her birthday on 2 September . She was probably baptized on this date), died on or about 11 April 1970 at Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; married 27 September 1922 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin(?) to Arthur Francis Jacques, Jr., who was born 21 August 1899 at Dollar Bay, Michigan and died 26 September 1967 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The parents of Arthur Francis Jacques were Arthur Francis Jacques and Celine Marie Des Rosiers of Marquette, Michigan.
