Nouvelle France covered
most of North America, the only portions of the land which were not French
territory were: the New England States of today, which were British colonies,
California, Florida and Mexico which were Spanish colonies.
Post 1712: after a war
against the British la Nouvelle France was broken into smaller countries,
(U.S.A., Upper Canada, Lower Canada, Mexico, .... etc.). It is only in the
1800's that Canada became what it is today. Upper Canada was all the Provinces
of Ontario going West and Lower Canada was the Provinces East of Ontario,
including Quebec
Therefore, all of our
ancestors that were born in 1712 and before were born in Nouvelle France.
