William Henry Pugsley
William Henry Pugsley was born sometime in 1839 probably in October, at North Castle, NY. When his father died in 1856, he was placed in the guardianship of Daniel Quinby. It is highly possible that Daniel Quinby was his Uncle. Daniel was married to Rachel Pugsley who is the right age to be a sister to Richard.
William married Phoebe Lane sometime in 1859 or very early 1860, and they lived in Greenwich all their lives.
William was a laborer and worked in a screw factory in Greenwich most the time. He doesn?t seem to have ever owned property. Phoebe inherited a 1/4 interest in her parents farm, but that was sold about 1865, and the money split with her brother and sisters. On his death certificate, it states that he was divorced. I don?t know if this was a divorce from Phoebe, or if Phoebe had died earlier and he had remarried. I have not found a death record for Phoebe. I have also been unable to confirm or disprove the divorce statement.
He is buried in the Putnam Cemetery in Greenwich, CT.
