Absalom Solomon Doutt, Sr was born in Lehigh County, PA, but moved with his famly to Northumberland County in 1816 or 1817. Later the family moved to Western Pennsylvania, where he met and married Elizabeth McFarland.Absalom seemed to be a school teacher as well as a storekeeper. He and Elizabeth had 3 known sons, although there is a rumor of a fourth one. Absalom set off on his own in 1837, no one seems to know why or where he went. There is no record of him or of where he went. There is no record of his death.
Elizabeth divorced him in 1845 and married Samuel Blair.
