Wild Geranium is a member of the Geranium Family (Geraniaceae) that blooms in woods, thickets and meadows from April to June. The flowers are a soft lavender with five rounded petals. The pistol is prominent and is surrounded by ten stamens.

The leaves of the plant look roughly like a deeply cut maple leaf, but are larger and dark green.

The flower grows from Georgia to Kansas and north to Canada.
