The Red Baneberry is a member of the Buttercup Family (Ranunculaceae). This bushy plant grows in woods and thickets across much of the Northern half of the United States.

The flowers are tiny - only about 1/4 inch across and giving the cluster a feathery appearance. The leaves are oval shaped and heavily toothed. The red berries of this plant are poisionous. The flowers bloom from May - July.
