Viola pubescensThe Downy Yellow Violet is a member of the Violet Family (Violaceae) and is found blooming in rich woodlands in May and June.
This is a softly hairy plant that has leaves and flower on the same stalk. The Flowers have 5 petals and the lower 3 are purple veined. The leaves are heart shaped and hairy.
It is found from Quebec south to Delaware and west to Nebraska.
