Dutchman's Breeches is a member of the Poppy Family (Papaveraceae) that blooms in April and May. This flower is easily identified from the pantaloon shape of the blossom. The flowers are always white and grow along a leafless stalk rising from a base of feathery basal leaves. It is found in deep woods from southern canada south to Georgia and west.
