If I had a magic wand
I would travel around the world.
Sprinkling rays of happiness
To cover each boy and girl
Less fortunate than you and I
Living in our free land
To see them smile, and laugh .. to play
Oh, That would be just grand!!!!
No child would have to beg or plead
for a tiny crust of bread,
No child would suffer from disease
or be found prematurely dead.
No child would see their parents cry
No child would see a young friend die
No child would suffer from the cold
Nor would a child turn suddenly old.
If I had a magic wand
I'd wonder across the earth
Granting each and every Mother
a safe and healthy birth
No babies would die
No parents would cry
there would be no pain or suffering
The sun would shine
The birds would sing
throughout the world
music would ring.
If I had a magic wand
every home would shake from laughter
People would get married
And really live"happily ever after"
If I had a magic wand
No one would go to bed
Without a kiss or some soft word
Of love being said
If I had a magic wand
No person would grow old
Without knowing true love
or ever being told<
Just how much their life has touched
another human being
Or knowing someone cared for them
A pity it does seem
That I don't have that magic wand
to help me out this way
There are no easy roads in life
I know
THat's what "they" say
But I can dream, hope and pray
That one day soon at last
The miracle of that magic wand
Will someday come to pass
And all the people of this world
will live in peace and joy
Is that too much to want to give
to our precious girls and boys?
