Level Tips

OK, Here are some tips for helping you through Perfect Dark. When I say tips, there just pointers as most of you by now should know your way around the level and just need a little help getting past one part where you are attacked by heaps of people, or something like that. But just before you go on, please not these are officially copyrighted cause my Mum's a Trade Mark Examiter (sp), which means I can copyright/trademark stuff for cheap (and have). DataDyne: Defection

Objectives:
1. Disable internal security hub
2. Obtain keycode necklace
3. Download project files
4. Disable external comms hub
5. Gain entrance to laboratory

* Beware of camera's, make sure you learn the location of all of them, then creep up and plant two bullets into it to make it history.
* Make sure to stick to your Falcon2 for most of the mission, otherwise you'll end up wasting all of your ammo
* In the room next to the office guy there is a Shocktrooper with double Falcons and ammo, make sure you get these.
* Before downloading the project files, get the office guy to open the door of the laptop gun room so you can get ammo and the LT gun.
* When taking the elevator down to the ground floor, switch to your laptop gun and hold it on Deploy as Sentry and when the lift door opens, throw it in the middle of the stairway, then switch to your CMP, this should make clearing out the downstairs gaurds a LOT easier.


DataDyne: Investigation

Objectives:
1. Holograph radioactive isotope
2. Start security maintenance cycle
3. Shut down experiments
4. Obtain experimental technologies
5. Locate Dr. Carroll

* When you start go right, through the door and clear out this area to stop surprise attacks from behind.
* I suggest doing objective 3, before doing 2 because it makes it so that you don't have to wait for the cleaning bot to come back and deactivate the lasers.
* On objective 3, when that really gay scientist is 'supposedly' shutting down the experiments, stand next to the computer he's on and hit B when you think the alarms about to go off. If you time this right the alarm can not go off at all.
* If the above doesn't work, get ready for two dD guards to come your way.
* Make big use of the show yourself then hide and let the guards come technique, a good example of this in the room with the guards with dragons. Run in quickly and then run out and close the door and wait.
* When engaging the drone guns, use the dragon's zoom especially on PA when they'll go for you as soon as you open the door.


DataDyne: Extraction

Objectives:
1. Access foyer elevator
2. Reactivate office elevator
3. Destroy dataDyne hovercopter
4. Defeat Cassandra's bodyguards
5. Rendezvous at helipad

* The first part of this level is the easiest providing you stay away from the guards, in other words so you can see them, but they can't see you.
* If you kill the 5 guards without being seeing you will get a DY357 which is pretty damn useless, but it's still there.
* When going up in the elevator, leave the doc behind.
* Use the Falcon2 for Shocktroopers and CMP for Bodyguards.
* The best way to take the hovercopter down is to run way from it, when you have to reactivate the office elevator it'll be after you, but just run. Only take it on when you get to the top floor with de vries office, get the rocket launcher, shoot out the glass above the cross, wait for it, target and say goodbye.
* Lot's of people seem to have trouble with the bodyguards but the easiest thing I have found is when you open the door (have your shoty handy) and double blast the girl at the base of the ramp, run to her position, spin around and kill the one next to the light switch. You are now safe and the lights should go off. Change to CMP and night vision and peak around the corner and target the two. Change to Follow Lock On and then, lean shoot, go back repeat. You only have one left above you now, but be careful. She will shoot downwards. Duck out and back and let her shoot then quickly run up the ramp while she's reloading and lean out and blow her to a better place.



Carrington Villa - Hostage One
Objectives:
1. Eliminate rooftop snipers
2. Activate wind generator
3. Locate and eliminate dataDyne hackers
4. Capture dataDyne guard
5. Rescue Carrington

* When it says eliminate snipers it means it, if you don't take out a sniper when you see him then you'll regret it by losing half of your health. There is one golden rule with snipers though. LAUGH! and laugh hard when they fall to there demise.
* This level I find is really bad for people apearing behind you and taking you out, try to stick next to the walls and don't leave yourself open to a behind attack.
* Also try and make a good strategy, learn where abouts all the guards are and plot a course through them, taking every single one out on the way.
* After you complete objective 2, don't wait for that ******** grimshaw to say about the hackers, as this will hamper you. As soon as it says Objective 2 Complete, run back up to the villa and kill the hackers, this way I can kill them with 20 secs to spare.
* I'm not sure if this will work for other people, but when down in the cellar duck once do that you are shielded by the wine racks, then sneek around and blow the guard on the other side to a better place.
* When it says "Picked up a Guards Keycard" goto the door that when you open it finishes the level and quickly open it, run through and close it as you run through, if you do this right you'll be in Carrington's Cellar with him and you can waste your ammo on him and bloody him up. Just thought I'd put this in cause it's fun =).


Chicago - Stealth
Objectives:
1. Retrieve drop point equipment
2. Attach tracer to limousine
3. Prepare escape route
4. Create vehicular diverson
5. Gain entry to G5 building

* Stealth, Stealth, STEALTH. If they say something in Perfect Dark, they usually say it for a reason and this level being called Chicago -
Stealth is there for a reason. If you go around blowing the brains through any guy you see, you'll be dead soon than you can say 'Bugger'.
* When you start off go around then corner and halfway down the alleyway and wait. You should see a gaurd turn around, then quickly run up and punch him in the back. After this run through the little corridor, straight up to the CIA guy and whack, quickly turn around run down the other corridor to your right and again whack the guard one in his back and he'll fall.
* I find using the bomb-spy (in the dumpster in the room you'll come to if you follow the above, just push it infront of a barrel and blow the barrel up) much more effective and eaiser. Anyway to do this, use the bomb-spy to fly to the place with the elevator access and wait until everyone's nicely around you and tap the Z button. NOTE: If it doesn't say Objective 4 complete you'll have to try it again.
* In the place where you have to lay the mine, there are a swarm of guards, first enter the room where you get the bomb-spy and lean out and kill the CIA guy, with your gun of course, then keep poping out and annihilating anyone who comes neer until the guards stop. Then you have to creep out and shoot up a bit and take out all the guards up the stairs, then lay the mine on the middle door.
* When getting the drop point equipment, get it by running from where you lay the mine across the street and drop down into the drain. Obviously don't do this if the robot is there or if you haven't completed objective 4.
* I'd do the objectives in this order: 4,2,1,3,5.
* If your smart when running from objective 4 - 1 you can throw the tracer and land it on the limo, if you're a good enough shot.

G5 Building
Objectives:
1. Disable damping field generator
2. Deactivate laser grid systems
3. Holograph meeting conspirators
4. Retrieve Dr. Carroll backup from safe
5. Exit building

* This is a pretty straight forward level and providing you don't get mashed by guards you'll be alright.
* To avoid all the guards when cracking the safe, first place the cam-spy as you normally would, except leave it just infront of the hole, that it has to go through. Continue through the level as normal then stick the safe cracker onto the control panel thingy step back from the safe door and wait until the alarm goes off. Quickly press Start, go into inventory and choose cam-spy hit start and hold forward. If everything went alright the camspy should now be filming the meeting conspirators, watch the movie until the end, or until 5 secs after the time down the bottom has run out, now simply run into the safe, pick up doc's personality and hit start again and select remote mine, get out of start menu and hit a & b at the same time, the door should now be open so get the hell out of there. Level Complete!


Area 51 - Infiltration
Objectives:
1. Shut down air intercept radar
2. Plant comms device on antenna
3. Disable all robot interceptors
4. Gain access to hanger lift
5. Make contact with CI spy

* This is a pain of a level, in my opinion, but here we go.
* If you wait until (in the starting movie) Daniel says "your entry point is a deserted helipad, at the edge of the base." hit start, you will then have one guard walking away from you and you'll be facing the back of two other guards. Kill the two guards, then spin around and wipe out the other one.
* Make sure that you stay away from gun turrets and hit them from a distance.
* If you open the main gate and sink 9 shots into the robot intercepter the guy's working on, it'll blow up and save you alot of health.
* When passing the rocket launcher place, get it because you can then head down the tunnel, peak out at the gun turret next to the attenna a fire away, this will save you health.
* After doing objective 2 (do it before 1) goto where the r. launcher was and crawl through the hole in the wall, kill the two guards and then take out the gun turrets which should be facing the other way from you. This will make this whole area safe - for now.
* When doing objective 1, use a grenade to take out most, if not all of the lasers before you lay the explosives, after which are laid wait next to the door for a couple of guys, but make sure you get out of there before the timer runs out.
* I find that after taking the hanger lift down, running to the next lift is the easiest thing to do, but ou may prefer to hide and pop out once and a while, which ever works for you.
* After hoping in the lift in which CI spy first makes contact with you, get out either your 2xmagsec's or dragon and just run, shooting the whole way to the door.


Area 51 - Rescue
Objectives:
1. Destroy computer records
2. Locate conspiracy evidence
3. Obtain and use lab technician disguise
4. Gain access to autopsy lab
5. Rescue the crash survivor

* When doing the first part of this level (before you get into the actual A51 tunnels) try to aviod guards rather than take them out, another annoying thing is when taking lifts up guards will shoot down, just try and dodge them, otherwise you can try and hit them, but it's very difficult.
* In the first part, leave a couple of prox dragons after every lift, this way you shouldn't get any surprise attacks.
* When doing objective 2, make sure that all of the guards around the area are dead, because it is almost impossible to know what's going on when you've got the x-ray goggles on.
* The Lab Disguise is directly infront of the whole you blast in agent, or in the showers with the man holding it (SA), or in one of the lockers(PA).
* As soon a you pick up the lab disguise a timer will start so make sure you do objectives 1 & 2 first, also when you have the disguise on, keep your [super]dragon handy because the guards will somehow know it's still you.
* When you reach the door, which the guy will open for you, put your gun away and switch to disarm, as soon as the door opens, hit him and he'll fall. I suggest hitting start now to switch to your dragon/superdragon as it's quicker to kill the other guard next to the white-board.
* After you have got the medcard for the last lab just run, and avoid all guards at all costs, this should get you pretty easily to the last door.


Area 51 - Escape
Objectives:
1. Locate alien tech medpack
2. Rendezvous with CI spy
3. Locate secret hanger
4. Revive Maian Bodyguard
5. Escape from Area 51

* This level is pretty easy and to think you only have to do it on agent to get invincible, stupid.
* When I first played this game, I found the hover bed wouldn't open the doors, but after a while it gets easier. So if your having the trouble with this don't worry.
* When in the first nerve gas area you'll probably cough once, this shouldn't lose you any health.
* When you get to the tunnel, which at the end is the place where you leave elvis, just let go of the hover bed about half way down, then run at the door. You should get there before the bed does, and you'll open the door for Elvis.
* If you get Elvis to the place where he's meant to go with in 37 secs of the level starting, you'll get some remotes in the room which Johno blows the wall open, these can be very helpful when going to Johno on PA, lay them next to the door on the right and wait, about 5 guards should run through the doors, take care of them with the mines.
* When running back with Johno, stay with him as heaps of guards come from behind, and he'll be the hero trying to kill them all and get himself killed. So stay with him and help him.
* On PA you have to Revive Elvis, simply get out the medpack, hit z, get out your gun and start blowing people, the med pack will still be working, you don't have to just stand there.
* If you're going for the cheat, a helpful thing is to wait until Johno goes off to get the consoles to open the door, run ahead of him, and hit b on the computers for him, this will make your escape about 20 secs faster, I would also just do this anyway, as it stops elvis being killed easily.


Air Base
Objectives:
1. Obtain disguise and enter base
2. Check in equipment
3. Subvert security monitoring system
4. Obtain flight plans from safe
5. Board Air Force One

* This a really cool and really hard level, but eventually it becomes easy.
* I don't know why, but I was playing once on PA, and watched the whole of the starting movie and then afterwards all the guards new where I was, and I was dead in no time. If anyone knows why this happens

* When you start off, use the drug-spy to kill all of the guards around the front of the base, including the stewardress. You should have 1 more shots than you need, so you have a slight margin for error.
* Remember that after you have given in your equipment, you can run through the metal detectors, so you don't have to go up and down the escalators, also make sure you punch out the guy that says "you shouldn't have come here girl", and on your way to the security system disarm a guard so you have a dragon.
* When at the security system place turn off the system, and the guy in the grey suit will shoot the guy in the white suit, disarm the grey suit and knock him out. Now hide behind a pillar coming out of the wall and wait, about 5-7 guards will come, kill them then wait for a while until you are sure no more will come, then move out.
* In the hallway, before you get to the safe, lay a prox dragon behind you to be sure, but don't walk into it. Now use your K7 to kill off all the other guards, run up and hit b on the lift, then run and get the flight plans(blow the remote on the door with your gun, get into the room through the side gap, press the wall switch twice and then grab it out of the safe. Now run back to the lift, but watch out for guards, the lift should be open if not, call it again. The lift will open once, close it, it'll then go back up, run out, turn left run down the hall and into the shuttle.


Air Force One
Objectives:
1. Locate and retrieve equipment
2. Locate President
3. Get President to escape capsule
4. Secure Air Force one flight path
5. Detach UFO from Air Force One

* This level is my personal favourite, because your on a plane, mowing people down!
* If you used the previous tips for Air Base you'll be on the middle deck, if you entered the plane from the bottom, you'll be on the lower. Either way you'll encounter a stewardress and a steward, knock out the steward before the stewardess, because he's more likely to hurt you.
* When you come across the guy with the keycard, make sure you punch him, rather than disarm him as disarming won't work.
* When walking back from getting the card, lower the hover bike, this will help greatly in the next mission.
* In the area with the presidental staircase, the guards will try to hit you, just run like the wind and turn left at the top of the staircase, not right.
* Making sure the pres. doesn't end up as fish bait is your main goal here, just make sure no guards get past you to nail him.
* You can, after talking to the pres. throw the mine, and then save the plane, then get the pres to the pod (objectives in order of 1,2,5,4,3), this is more risky, but can pay off as it is faster and easier in the end.


Crash Site
Objectives:
1. Retrieve Presidental medical scanner
2. Activate distress beacon
3. Shut down enemy jamming device
4. Retire Presidential clone
5. Locate and rescue President

* If you followed the tip above and lowed the hoverbike off air force one, then when you start turn around and the bike will be sitting there. This is very helpful when getting the cheat.
* I would suggest going into the cave with the fake pres, not sniping from the hole in the roof. You can run into the cave, not putting on night vision, shooting the Mr Blonde's and then shooting around where the fake pres is, this I find is the best method.
* When blowing up the jamming device, don't use at least 3-4 mines, you can then use these to dispose of the robots next to the real pres & trent easton. Simply let them see you, when they get near throw a mine and blow it up in mid air using the a & b method, do this for both pairs of 'bots and it'll make your life much easier.


Palegic II
Objectives:
1. Disable primary power source
2. Secure laboratories and research data
3. Deactivate GPS and autopilot
4. Activate Moon Pool lift
5. Rendezvous and escape with Elvis

* Ugghhh, I shudder when the thought of this level comes to mind, this is the worst level. Good Luck.
* When doing objective 1, use your x-ray goggles and only hit the green switches, for some reason alot of people (including me) don't know that this is what you're ment to do, instead they end up guessing.
* The scientists with the research data are a pain because they just run, I suggest standing in the doorway so they can't get out.
* The last thing you want in this level is the alarm going off, if you can avoid this congratulations, it's really hard, but if you can do it, the level will be much easier as you won't have the male population of America on you.
* I definately suggest clearing out all of the hallways in which you and elvis have to pass through to get to the end place, before you meet up with him, this way it ensures he doesn't get killed.
* On SA or A, when in the room with the moon pool lift, you can activate it, then run up to the big door and walk to the right of the door, put on your x-ray goggles and you can see the switch that opens the door, get near the switch and activate it and the door will open, this will finish the level and is a huge shortcut.


Deep Sea
Objectives:
1. Reactivate teleportals
2. Disable Cetan megaweapon
3. Secure control room
4. Restore Dr. Carroll's personality
5. Escape from Cetan ship

* This level is quite easy, no I've not gone bonkers, I completed this with only losing a tiny bit of my health, here's how.
* Use your IR Scanner to see the cloaked men, the other thing you can do is open the door, push elvis through, then close the door and he'll kill all of the guys in the room.
* After you have done objective 1 and have been transported to the place with all the green things. Elvis will give you his Farsight XR-20. This is the key to the whole mission, abuse the XR-20, using it you can kill all of those little scary things that jump at you (you have to use the railgun effect and c-up and c-down, cause the target locater stuffs up more often than not). But if you come across a room where they just keep coming, you can just run through the room and avoid them totally.
* To blow all the green power cells up, first use the XR-20 in the hallway before the room to take it out, rather than stand in the room and get your arse kicked by those horrible little green skedar.
* After you've done objective 2 and gone through the teleportal, use the XR-20 again to take out one Mr Blonde, wait and the other one will open the door, sink another shot into this one and then restore the doc's personality.
* If you're still getting killed practise using the invincibility cheat, and the cloaking device with unlimited ammo; if you have it.


Carrington Institute
Objectives:
1. Reactivate automatic defenses
2. Release hostages
3. Retrieve experimental weapon
4. Destroy sensitive information
5. Deactivate bomb

* OK, Reeeeeeeeeeally cool level...
* When you start off you can kill the skedar, or you cannot because 9 times out of 10 the CI guard will do it for you. Yes, I can't believe it either, the CI guards are actually good for something =).
* You'll be running around alot in this level so for god's sakes learn to strafe.
* When doing objective 1, run past the jumpship and activate that one, then run back into the hanger, go up the ramp, run across the high platform, open the door and activate that gun, then run to where you deactivate the bomb and go straight ahead and activate that one. This is the best method for avoiding guards and keeping that precious health.
* If you actually want to save all the hostages upstairs, (the temptation to kill is very strong) then use 2 combat boosts at once if you're slow, or 1 if your fast, this way you'll save them all. In the holoroom kill the guard on the right first as he is the only one who will kill the real hostage. If you've saved all the hostages so far you can kill foster and his mate, but if you want that promotion I suggest saving him. The choice is yours =).
* After getting the RCP-120 run up to Joe's office and fire a grenade (you did get the devestator, DIDN'T you?!?!) outside the door and a guard will apear and die, that'll stop anymore guards coming and hurting you while you up stairs, take care of the sensitive info with a grenade and then run back to the lift. At this point there could be about 4 guards in the lift if so wait until the door slids open and use a grenade round.
* After doing objective 4 get out your RCP and head down in the lift, holding it on cloak, now there should be quite a few Mr Blonde's at the bottom so as soon as the lift doors open, cloak and run to the bomb.
* When disarming the bomb, hide behind the ship to stay away from Mr B's shots, then run like the wind to the hanger.
* In this whole level you should never stop running, when I did it on PA I did it in 3:45 I you get around 3:30-4:00 when doing the bomb you should be alright, just if you wait in this level you get so many guards on you it's not funny.


Attack Ship
Objectives:
1. Disable shield system
2. Open hanger doors
3. Access navigational systems
4. Sabotage engine systems
5. Gain control of bridge
Skedar Ruins
Objectives:
1. Identify temple targets
2. Activate bridge
3. Gain access to Inner Sanctum
4. Destroy secret Skedar Army
5. Assassinate Skedar leader
Mr Blondes Revenge
Objectives:
1. Plant explosive device in lab lift
2. Eliminate dataDyne Captain
3. Locate and escort Cassandra to helipad
Maian SOS
Objectives:
1. Sabotage enemy medical experiment
2. Destroy captured Maian saucer
3. Activate distress signal
