GET A HALF-LIFE -deadeye-
This may not be PD-related, but hey. For those of you who play or have played the PC version of Half-Life, you may want to check this out. With various cheats, I created a nice little arsenal. Nothing too great, but if you're bored, it'll pass some time. Check this out.

SLOW-MO -deadeye-
I haven't gotten a scan of that Japanese magazine yet, unfortunately. Hopefully I'll be able to get something. On another note, I held a GameCube disk today in my hands, and my, it's much smaller than I thought. If I can, I'll try to get my hands on one of those demo disks and I'll take some comparative pictures to put up.

WANT YOU BAD -deadeye-
Somebody is obviously looking at stealing my rather unique domain name. Whoever wants my domain also registered RareDark.net as well as RareDark.org. The problem is, my RareDark.com domain will be expiring shortly, so I'll have to race the clock and reregister before this bastard gets a chance to steal. If he does take it, I'll just have to resort to suing (I actually spent money and bought a copyright, ;). Anyway, just in case you try to get here via RareDark.com and the address doesn't work, you'll have to use RareDark.cjb.net.

HAVE A GOOD CRAP-O-WEEN -deadeye-
It's that time of year again. When we older folk have to pass out candy as we watch horror movies and get drunk. In other news, Frank of Nintensity got the chance to go to the Gamecube Club last weekend, as well as one of my former affiliates. Check out Frank's description of the Gamecube Club here.

WANT IT? I GOT IT! -deadeye-
Yeah, you've been begging and begging for new PERFECT DARK ZERO info. I have it for you. A Japanese gaming magazine revealed some information, and even a beta screenshot. A buddy who goes by Xide has a copy of this magazine. According to him:

Add a dash of HALO, and add a dash of Half Life, then the main ingredients are Perfect Dark and Goldeneye."

This is his personal description of the game according to the information he can translate from the magazine. Here is some of the infomration he has translated: The game is set with a release date of mid-2002 and has an estimate cost of 4800 yen ($40). He is attempting to find someone who can scan this magazine article so we can bring you a sample of that screenshot and text. This newsflash is exclusive to RareDark.com. Keep coming back for the latest updates!

GET CUBED! -deadeye-
I'm proud to inform you that one of my "agents" (actually, a staffer of one of our affiliates) will be going to a GAMECUBE show. He will get the chance to play some games and the like. Hopefully, we'll get some info and a short review or two out of him.

WHAT HAPPENED HERE? -deadeye-
I have been away for quite a while, so sorry about not being able to do my part of working on the site. I have no idea what Glockem was doing the whole time I've been gone (nothing's changed at all ;). I can't blame him, though. He's one of my *ahem* "good, hard-working" friends.

I'M BACK -Glockem-
I have obviously been gone for quite a while. Now I will get back to putting up the "Design PD2" section. There is quite a bit of setting-up for this thing, and I need to get a submission form going after I get all of the sections up. Deadeye is working on the beta section and part two of his "Real Gaming Guns" special (which is the Real Guns of Perfect Dark).

WANT SOME LAUGHS? -deadeye-
A bunch of college students at the University of Missouri-Rolla (UMR.edu) put together a rather hilarious flash animation concerning the ever-hated Osama bin Laden. This is a must to download. I must warn you, however, that it may not be suitable for younger viewers (middle fingers, etc.) Enough of the chatter, go download it!

I understand that the lyrics are hard to understand, so I uploaded them. The lyrics can be viewed here.

LATE-NIGHT UPDATE -deadeye-
This is probably the first bit of PDZ info I've updated the site with for a while. Nothing big, but I added a tidbit to the Perfect Dark Zero Weapons section.

IN MEMORY -deadeye-
Today is the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Day. Being the son of a retired firefighter and the grandson of a passed-away fire Chief, I believe it is important to remember those brave firefighters who have exchanged their lives for the lives of total strangers. That is what firefighters do. Good luck to and God bless all those brave men out there who wear those distinctive helmets, drive those big red trucks, and call themselves firefighters when they should be called Heroes.

BORED? -deadeye-
It is still going to be a while until we start getting some confirmed information on Perfect Dark Zero, so if you want to ask me questions about it or anything else, or you're just plain bored, head on over to RareDark's Newest Message Board. If you haven't registered yet, you may do so here. Registration is free.

WOOPS -Glockem-
I guess I forgot all about having to take care of Deadeye's site... At least I finally remembered. Anyway, Cook Train, one of the columnists here, wrote a couple new columns. I will not reveal his second one until tomorrow, but here is the first, titled "Shigsy's 'Mistake'".

GAMECUBE CONTROLLER ON EBAY -deadeye-
Anyone remember the story about the stolen GC controller that was put on eBay? I'm bringing this old topic back because there are many who never got to see the auction first-hand. Soon after, the auction was cut-off. So, just as a reminder:

The stolen GAMECUBE controller that was on auction at eBay was taken down. Oddly enough, the bid was up to $14,999.99. It was probably a Nintendo loyalist or a Nintendo employee that made the outrageous bid so that nobody could buy it before the auction was taken down. For those of you who didn't get to see the auction before it was taken down, I've got a little present for you: I took some screenshots of it.
~ Top part of auction
~ Bottom part of auction
(description, image, etc.)

Take a look at the auction for yourselves if you never got a chance to. The above update was a quote of my August 17 update. The August 17 update can be viewed on the August 2001 Archived Page. To check out other archived pages, click here.

WELL, WUDDA YOU KNOW? -deadeye-
For those of you "RareDark Veterans", you probably remember my Perfect Dark Gun Modification Guide, which was the first ever such guide on the internet. Visitors happily created awesome custom guns: until some losers came along and deleted the entire website. Guess what. Yeah. The guide still exists! Thanks to a fellow named John Paul McCord, I can bring back my guide. You see, Johnny modified it slightly, customized the words (I would never use the term "clip" because a "clip" and a "magazine" are not the same thing) and posted it in a Google.com club. Well, click here to start customizing the weapons in Perfect Dark again!

A GALLANT RETURN -deadeye-
Anyone miss me? Of course I probably won't totally abandon my own site, but I won't be around too much anymore. I actually didn't leave because of all the immature e-mail I was getting. It was mainly those two words: Life and Time. Yeah, I have a life to live. Places to go, people to meet, a girlfriend that needs me, etc.

Just one notice, though. I will be getting a beta section up. I will be finishing-up the "Real Gaming Guns" special. I will be putting another mailbag up. And I will be getting more PD2 info from my Insider (well, hopefully). One last thing I'm concerned about: the "RareDark.com" domain name will be expiring in the coming months, so I'll have to obviously reregister it for like 8 bucks or something (yeah, I'm cheap, I know ;-). Just incase it expires before I get around to reregistering, you can use this following address: http://RareDark.cjb.net. Oh, and check out Shark SWL's newest completed project: Can any other game be more perfect?

RAREDARK! -Shark Swl-
Everybody. Shark Swl here. I dont know about you, but it makes me sick. Everyone that works here is very responsible. Deadeye is a great guy. DARK WILL ALWAYS BE DARK! -Shark Swl-
Hey everybody! I would love to add more Perfect Dark misc in the other pages. If you people out there got some stuff to share, eh, email and submit it, as giving you credit. Also, some more PD0 info coming in!

DESIGN PERFECT DARK ZERO! -Glockem-
I just got a pretty good idea. Seeing that PDZ's release is about one year away, we've got some time to kill until some official info comes. Knowing this, I'm currently setting up a special section for the site where YOUR ideas for levels, weapons, simulants, characters, and anything else will be put-up for all to read and drool over. Keep coming back to see when this new section will be up. Maybe I can get Deadeye to give some ideas.

NEWEST COLUMN -Glockem-
Sorry about not updating earlier. I totally forgot about this site. Deadeye is right, this site is a lot of work ;). Anyway, a good new column by Dylan Stadler about the mood of games.
