The Normandy Avenue garden

This picture, taken in about 1952, may give a hint of what it was about the garden of 110 Normandy Avenue that so fired my imagination. There were many long dark tunnels of bushes like the one in the distance, and a maze of paths. There were also many climable fruit trees.
